Hello Citizens of Black Rock City!

Hello to everyone who completed a Placed Camp Questionnaire in 2016 and all of you listed as an additional contact!

Welcome to the Placement Newsletter for 2016!

This newsletter is a one-way announcement list where we share essential and helpful information that will be useful even if your camp is not placed this year.

You will be given Placement related information about twice a month until the event.  Topics may include: 
• Health Department requirements and how to meet them
• What?, Where?, When? Playa Events Calendar Submissions
• Contracting with Outside Services
• Preparing for RAIN - bring a bucket
• Early Arrival Passes and First Arrivers
• Leave No Trace planning and prepping

Each year, we do not purge the previous subscribers as our communications are more year round, rather than seasonal. If you want to unsubscribe, go ahead, you'll be added again when you re-submit in the future. If you do unsubscribe to this list, you are still responsible for the information you are missing.

This newsletter goes to everyone who completed the questionnaire, Theme Camps, Villages, Art Support, Work Support, Departments, Mutant Vehicles. Most of the information is relevant to Theme Camps, but all of you can probably benefit from something in each post.

2. The Placement Timeline:

The Placed Camp Questionnaire Closed on the last Thursday of April at noon Pacific time.

The Placement Team spends May reviewing the over 1450 questionnaires we received(180 more than in 2015).
We spend June creating the map of Black Rock City.
We announce Placement in early July.
August 1, 2016 is the last day to make changes to EA passes requests (for Theme Camps only)
August 22, 2016 - Placers on playa!

3. Making Changes, Updating Information, Emailing Placement

Now that you know our timeline, if your camp's interactivity or layout plans are changing, please provide that new information as soon as you can.

You can email us new interactivity information, new camp plans, camp population changes.

We have an email dispatch system that works better if you ALWAYS put your camp name in the subject line and your 1st choice for sector
